Mission Statement

The mission of Brazos Valley Worldfest is to promote and celebrate the international diversity and heritage of the Brazos Valley. We consider the Brazos Valley unique in that we have more than 130 nationalities in our workplace and community with an estimated international component in excess of 15,000 people. To achieve our mission, we work with international faculty, scholars and students, as well as other residents in proudly sharing their heritage with one another. Cultural displays, demonstrations, an international film series, food tastings, performances, children’s crafts and educational competitions are among many of the events planned for the festival again this year.

Festival History

Texas A&M University and the Brazos Valley Worldfest Board spearhead the organization of this community-wide festival. We would like to thank our planning partners for their support and involvement in international education.

Texas A&M and its many planning partners began working on the US Department of Education International Education Week back in 2005. Over the next 2 years, the events of International Education Week have expanded to the first Brazos Valley Worldfest on November 17, 2007.

The festival was invited to the City of College Station’s Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater in 2009. The City of College Station shares in the belief that creating a welcoming environment for our community’s international residents and visitors will only better promote the Brazos Valley to the World. At its peak year, the festival boosted an estimated attendance of 13,000 to 15,000 attendees.

In 2017, after multiple years of bad weather, the festival moved to the Brazos County Expo Complex pavilion. The festival is continually adding new performers, culture displays and activities. NEW IN 2018 – International Candy Shop.

Brazos Valley Worldfest celebrates international awareness by offering cultural displays, demonstrations, international cuisine, performances, children’s crafts, storytelling and many other activities. These activities have expanded beyond the one-day festival to include an International Film Series in the fall as well as Culture Club dinners throughout the year.

NEW FOR 2020: Brazos Valley Worldfest is partnering with the Downtown Bryan Association and Destination Bryan to host the festival in Downtown and partner with their annual Family Festifall are excited to be offering virtual Cultural Displays for 2020.

This event is free and open to the public.
